About the Artist Jeff Phillips
Jeff Phillips Environmental Artist Community Artist and Illustrator Personal Information. I was born and educated in Swansea in South Wales, an accomplished portrait artist and illustrator. I am a professional artist with over twenty five years experience and have built up an extensive portfolio my art work. For many years I ran my own gallery and art business from Swansea city centre. On many occasions I have worked with the Environment Centre Swansea and am an active member of (S.E.E.F) Swansea Environment and Education Forum. On 23rd November 2001 received a life long fellowship for my millennium award winning project “The Wheel”, to Spain where I delivered a series of talks to the students at the Torrevieja institute and at local schools in the Alicante Province. Using “The Wheel”, and my other paintings I have developed exciting and thought provoking environmental art workshops, working in schools with children of all ages, youth groups and adults with learning difficulties. I have worked on projects with such bodies as The Environment Centre Swansea, The Princes Trust, B.T.C.V, Mumbles Development Trust and The Mo Green Project.
